Where to place package for install in NSLU2

Hi,
First thing; sorry that i write in English, my german writing is not that good.
But if anyone reply to this mesage, you can in German, i can read verry well.

My questions:

1 : I bought the NSLU2 2 weeks ago, been reading over it every day, have found the Unslung 6.8 firmware, installed it, just like it is written om a thread here in this forum, Also read most of the pages on the /www.nslu2-linux.org website, i'm using Putty to telnet the NSLU2.

Now i want to install packages, like an FTP server,

The problem : i don't know where to place the downloaded file ; BV ; vsftpd,
Where do i place the file so i can install it, ???
Been searching for this thing many days, can't find an answer,


Question 2 : i try'd to install the SlugOs firmware : OpenSlug-3.10-beta-firmware.zip.
Did it like it was told on NSLU2-Linux - Main / HomePage browse , but it was not working.
Can't acces the nslu2 through the web browser, and if i do a reset, that will not work, the nslu2 just fall out.
THe reason i wanted to install the openslug firmware (slugos) is beqouse of this :::::

I recently bought the SNLU2, and a twin external hardrive console from sharkoon. (Sahrkoon Twindrive - bought it at [Shop URL deleted] , you can see details) [Shop URL deleted]


This is a console that has room for 2 IDE hd's and comes together to 1 usb cable that will go to the NSLU2

I installed 2 hardrives in the console, 1 - 400GB & 1 -120GB
So the console is connected with 1 usb cable to the SNLU2.
It had the firmware : NSLU2_V23R72
All was good, both hardrives are detected. Thet were formated with windows under NTFS.

Now i did a firmware update, installed this one : Unslung 6.8 Beta.

Firmware update went all good.
To use the hd's under UNslung, they got to be formated under EXT3. Did that,
Now only 1 hardrive is recognized, the 400GB (master)

if i disable the 400GB (unplug the IDE cable) and restart the SNLU2 it recognize the 120GB (slave)


I reconnect both hd's, and only the master 400GB is recognized, there is nothing to see from the 120GB hardrive.
I also try to conect to the port 1 or port 2, both same problem only that on port 2 he see only the 120GB, and port 1 the 400GB.

Someone gave a advise to install the SlugOs firmware, beqouse Unslung firmware can't see 2 HD's on 1 usb cable.

Can someone tell me exactly how to start installing packages to the nslu2, without leaving some details out. Where to place the downloaded package for to install.
The NSLU2 is now connected to my Laptop, not on router, will connect it to my router when all is installed like i want it to be.

You have to use the internal package management system. On the normal unslung OS (as described at our board here) it is

ipkg -i [packagename]

Sorry I can't give any sup for the SlugOS. But Unslung anytime

I use the Unslung firmware, 6.8 beta,
So if you can give spicific details, on how and where i have to place the pacage to install. Dunt understand that part .
